Ann Conner, Board Member

Ann Conner grew up in a musical family where she and her brother played the piano for many years and sang in a church choir in their youth. After college and working in Boston, she married and moved to Newport where she taught math in a private girls school. She served for many years as a member of the Board of Trustees of Rhode Island Foundation, and established the Ann F. and Robert B. Conner Fund at the Rhode Island Foundation in honor of her parents, for the provision of music education for children. This Fund perpetuates the Choir School’s Piano Outreach Program. Ann’s philanthropic and organizational expertise has naturally engaged her for many Boards, most rewardingly that of The Ladd School, a state institution in Exeter, Rhode Island that served people with developmental delays or mental disabilities from 1908 to 1993.
