Kate Longo, Associate Director
Kate Longo has served as the music director at St. George’s School since 2019. A native of Newport, she graduated from the University of Connecticut with a bachelor’s degree in music and education; the University of Oregon with a master’s in music choral conducting; and the University of Miami with a doctorate in choral conducting. She began her teaching career at Farmington High School in Connecticut. Following her doctoral studies, Kate served as coordinator of choral studies and choral director at Florida International University, while conducting the training choristers of the Miami Children’s Chorus. Though her career took her all around the country, Kate has always been drawn back to Aquidneck Island and is happy to be an active musician here at home with her husband and two Choir School children. When she is not singing, teaching, or conducting, she can be found near the ocean enjoying the breeze and waves year round.
