Choir School Age Education
Our program is for unchanged voices ages 7 1/2 through 14; some singers continue through high school. Experienced boys with changed voices rehearse separately. A “feeder choir” for ages 4 through 7, discontinued during the pandemic, is restarting this Spring if a critical mass is reached; if interested please contact us and we will add you to a waiting list. Ages 7 1/2 through 14 are welcome to arrange a family interview and/or to attend an upcoming rehearsal or performance to see if we’re a good fit. Advanced readers of English may join the main choir earlier if they have achieved a second grade reading level before age 7 1/2. Rehearsals are held on Thursdays in Portsmouth from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., including a group dinner, and occasional Sunday afternoons.
Early Childhood Education
From ages 8 months through three years it is the recommendation of the Choir School to enroll a child in Music Together, a national curriculum with satellite locations in Portsmouth and Newport. For more information, please visit www.musictogethernewport.com or call (401) 846-9014
